This, dear readers is Elizabeth Keener, new cast member of The L Word…
and younger sister of Catherine Keener…
…aka major celebrity crush of yours truly!
Let me just start by saying that I am slightlymadly in love with Catherine Keener. She’s an incredible actress, an absolute joy in everything she does, has one of the best laughs in history and a killer smile, is oh-so-freakin’ sexy, and her voice makes me melt. If Catherine Keener’s in it, I’ll watch it. Major celebrity crush.
Getting back to Elizabeth… I was checking in over at OurChart, (gotta keep abreast of the latest L Word news and other lesbionic happenings) and there she is(!) — this new cast member named Elizabeth Keener, in a video with Leisha Hailey answering reader questions.
She looks like Catherine Keener and sounds like Catherine Keener…they must be related! So I frantically scour the internet. All I could find is a short imdb profile (which confirmed that she is Catherine’s younger sister), the above pic from some party, and this one from when she apparently played a corpse on CSI.
Catherine Keener’s little sister is playing gay on The L Word!!!
This is the most exciting lesbian casting news in my life since Marlee Matlin.
Hmm… I think there could be a great story line for this new character involving an appearance of her older sister…. Don’t you??
***UPDATE*** EDITED: 4.21.08: It seems a million and a half people wind up at my little blog by searching for info about E. Keener, so I thought it was appropriate to come back and do a lil’ update. It appears as though Elizabeth Keener is actually gay. As far as I know there’s been no public coming out or anything (and I could be wrong!), but she seems to be part of the whole power lesbian group over at AfterEllen (link, link). Very exciting stuff. And while my heart still belongs to Catherine, I think Elizabeth is pretty darn cool too.
