Baby daydreams and night-dreams

Last night I had a baby dream – my second on in about a week and a half. This time the baby was a girl, which is never the case. And inexplicably, her name was Dylan, which is a name that we have never considered (and I don’t even like). But there she was in my dream, our little baby Dylan, not even a day old, and among all kinds of weird dream-antics (attack poodles at my grandparents’ house and other nonsense – seriously, where does my subconscious come up with this stuff?), there was a moment when I was just looking at her, in awe of how much I loved her. And then I was chasing The Accountant around nagging her about using the carseat correctly, which was kind of hilarious.

The baby dreams come and go, but I’m guessing two in about a week might have something to do with my recent excessive internet browsing…

It’s no secret that I like to do a little internet window shopping for baby stuff (and okay, maybe a little bit of real shopping too). It’s fun to browse through all of the cute things that are available for baby and daydream about the future. And with browsing, I learn. I find out what nursery styles appeal to me, how much crib bedding costs, the different features you can get in a stroller, etc, etc. Sometimes I learn about something awesome, like the existence of this:

Peg Perego - Tatamia

It’s the Tata.mia by P.eg Per.ego. It debuts June 2009 and it is the current object of my baby gear lust.

The high chair is a baby gear item that I haven’t been too into yet – I just think most of them are ugly. I’ve done some browsing and haven’t been impressed. Then I found the Tata.mia.  While it’s still not all that attractive (though I do think the orange is cute), it is a high chair, a swing, and a toddler chair (like, to take the place of a booster seat). Three things in one, plus is collapses to a compact size to get out of the way when needed, has wheels for easy rolling around the house and has a smaller footprint than many high chairs. That’s a whole lot o’gear in one!

Since the Tata.mia doesn’t come out until June, there’s no price listed yet – and I have a feeling it might be a teensy bit on the expensive side. Maybe I should start prepping The Accountant now on how much we need it. Sure, it’s $145635972359028467, but it’s THREE in ONE! That’s like a bargain! And it comes in orange! You love orange! And it’s COOL! And in my dream, Dylan loved it!!!  And then she’ll be like, Who’s Dylan?
