As I’ve mentioned before, The Accountant and I are saving for a house. Living in the Boston area, we always knew it might be quite some time before we could afford to buy, but with the ongoing housing slump (and our growing willingness to live a little further from the city), we are getting closer and closer. We’ve been out on drives through potential towns and neighborhoods, gone to an open house, and done lots of online browsing. With prices continuing to fall, and my stint of unemployment behind us, home ownership is becoming a reality. It will still be, at the very least, several months before we’re actually ready to buy, but that isn’t such a long time.
We do truly love our current apartment (and are still just as thrilled with it as the day we moved in), but with our second bedroom full to the gills, functioning as our guestroom/office/laundry-drying-space/The Accountant’s closet, there just isn’t room for the family we hope to create.

Now, with the preliminary house search underway, my thoughts are filled with nurseries, backyards, and cozy guest rooms waiting to welcome friends and family. After all the fun I had redecorating when we moved last summer, I’m getting really excited about translating what we’ve done into a house and continuing, as a homemaker at heart, to make our home.
With the house on my mind (and some downtime at work), I’ve been mentally piecing together the nursery. Yes, new designs are always popping up, and things could change, but it’s fun to daydream anyway. Here’s the nursery look I’m digging right now:

Love your nursery inspiration
I’ve been spending way too much time lately browsing the artwork on etsy.
The twins we watch have the jenny lind crib and i love it – not only is it a good size, but the sides are low enough so that even at 5’4″ I dont have to struggle with placing a sleeping babe in.

mommie2b – Thanks! Yes, one minute you stop by etsy to browse…the next thing you know, you’ve been there for an hour! It sucks you in! So glad to hear good things about the Jenny Lind – I’m 5’3″
