Yesterday The Accountant and I visited a newborn baby and a toddler (and their parents, a former colleague of the Accountant’s and his wife).  It was a wonderful treat for us both – doing little shape and animal puzzles, watching Elmo, and smelling that new baby smell.  Alas, we couldn’t take the little ones with us (so cute! so sweet!), and now it’s back to baby daydreaming in a big way…

So I thought I’d share my new favorite baby-love outlet – babble.com. Babble has some great featured stories, columns, and fun blogs. I’m hooked on Love is Blind – an intimate peek into parenting a blind toddler, and Straight From the Bottle – a funny, no-nonsense glimpse into the life of a hip, tattooed mom who’s expecting baby #2.

Regularly reading three baby blogs is considered perfectly acceptable for someone who doesn’t have any babies of their own yet? Right? Right? I figure I’m fine as long as I limit myself to reading and not shopping.  I have been very successful so far in refraining from ordering one these:

Wishing Toys from Friends with You via ohdeedoh

Which I think are endlessly cute and are very inexpensive and wouldn’t take up much room at all to store until a baby arrives…

Anyway, it’s kind of a slow news day for this Housewife, and apparently I’m not the only one – all morning the featured story on Yahoo’s Entertainment section has been the wedding of that guy who won the second (or third?) season of American Idol.  Yeesh.  At least I gave you some fun links and a cute picture!
